"I've seen figure 1 in a couple of other articles by Mr Backstrom. The illustration of planform effects on the lift distribution is wrong. Sweep causes the CL over alpha curve to be shallower at the forward part and steeper at the aft part, opposite of what he shows. Obviously this error doesn't affect the designers of planks but it could kill someone designing a swept wing because those lift mountains near the tips WILL stall first if nothing is done about it. Here's the corrected view."
