my electric vehicles

My interest in electric vehicles came after watching a video about a vehicle made by Cedric Lynch. His funny looking motorcycle was able to ride a few hundreds of kilometers on a single charge. And we are talking about a old motorcycle here! I was impressed.

So ...i wanted to test some items myself. First i got myself a electrical goped. I use it a lot locally, but also on days at the gliding club (the folded goped fits in my car). Very good to be used on short trips. Range is about 40 km. Speed has two settings. 18 km/h and no age limitation is possible in Belgium. 32 km/h and it is considered as a moped.

When comparing this with the Segway i can tell from the single ride i had on that one, that the goped is easier to steer and more compact. Try to get a Segway in your car! Not easy. The seller tried to proof it could be done, but nearly destroyed his spine by lifting the Segway to trunk level.

I bought a Renault Twizy as i consider it the first affordable electric car. I bought it anno 2012 for 8810 euros. It has two seats, a small "trunk" and ...nice looks. I like it.

Soon i will receive my electric Swift rigidwing hangglider. Looking forward to get airborne in that motorglider and cut the power and soar, soar and soar.  :)

This picture shows the gasoline motorized Swift. There are not much electric ones yet, so ...hardly any pictures about it. I got permission from Vincent Piret of Aeriane to use this picture.
