Horten HII

When visiting Lars Urban, who restored three airplanes for the museum, i was super happy to notice the Horten HII (registered D-10-125) in their collection. It is the first Horten i see for real.

A nice example of a swept flying wing.

A bewondered me under the Horten HII

 

Retracted front wheel. Covered rear wheel can be steered.

 

One of the two transparent leading edge parts. The tubular structure of the center part is visible.

 

Wingtip. The dragrudder can be seen. Also there is a wooden protection for the tip when touching the ground.

The pilot is hidden inside the wing. But ...still the view is not so bad.

 

Cover over the edge between central part and wing.
